wright. she has latest on your on-time traffic. >> good morning to you all. right now, the lane are open if you are traveling in each direction down south at the wilson bridge. the marlboro pike remains closed off between brooks drive and silver hill road and that is due to that fatal crash which occurred shortly after midnight. stacy cohan is reporting live from the scene with more details. on the roads, lanes are open south on 270 leaving hyattstown headed out past the scales. no problems to report right here. beltway at new hampshire avenue, traffic flowing freely as you travel westbound into silver spring. lanes are open in even direction at -- in each direction at the american legion bridge. 66 busy right now if you are traveling northbound trying to work your way through manassas. here at the springfield interchange, no problems to report as you continue north of the fsp. that's a check of your fox 5 on-time traffic. prince george's county police vehicling a deadly accident in district heights. here is the result of it. they say a county ambulance

collided want suv in the 5 # hundred block of marlboro pike. this happened just after midnight. the police say the suv was speeding on the wrong side of the road when it sideswiped the ambulance and then hit a brick wall and a utility pole and flipped over. three people in the suv were killed. two medics were treated for injuries at the hospital. an argument at a popular hangout led to a shooting in upper marlboro. witnesses say a group of girls were fighting in an intersection on bennington drive near largo high school whether a separate dispute between two men broke out. several shots were fired not long after neighbors tried to break it up. a 19-year-old was shot but he is expected to survive. police arrested a 19-year- old and he is being held

without bond. police say he and three others approached victims in college park and took their items ran way. they have been spotted at seven eleven stores. >> they are attempting to purchase items in the store. they will go up to the cash register, using the victim's credit card. >> i was thinking about t my parents were probably more worried than i was. but something i thought about. >> the suspects still on the run are all considered to be armed and dangerous. whether we could hear from people and not just democrats that, we can hear from republicans and independents because, frankly, i believe in my heart in one city. >> d.c. council chairman vincent gray the winner of the mayoral primary talking about his plans for the future there. outgoing mayor adrian fenty isn't quite sure what is next for him. he doesn't see elected office in his immediate future but is not ruling it out either. the mayor says he will remain active in his community and look forward for a vacation but

back with alike at the two monster hurricanes that are spieling out at sea. that larger one you see on the left, that is igor and right behind him is yule i can't. officials say we could see dangerous rip currents along the east coast this weekend. so let's turn to tony now for the latest on these storms. my gosh, we just keep getting hit with these things. >> luckily, we don't keep getting hit. >> well, you know, they just keep coming and coming. >> a very active season out in the atlantic with minimal

impact for the east coast of the united states. even with these storms, igor a very strong category four hurricane. bermuda has to be -- has could keep an eye on what is happening with igor as it could get close to bermuda. a lot of that remainto be seen during the next day or two where it is going to head. the good news about julia, the second storm system, is it has lost a lot of its intensity. it is now a category two. >> could that change for julia? >> it could but that one looks like it will stay out to sea. the steering currents have kept these away from the east coast of the united states so that has been the good thick. we'll keep our fingers crossed. let's take a look at what is going on with our own weather conditions around the region. we'll start with our temperatures yesterday, what we made it up to. we were well into the 80s. 86degrees at reagan national airport. dulles made it up to 86 degrees as well. bwi marshall made it up to 84

degrees for the high yesterday. we'll do about the same today. we might tack on another couple of degrees. current temperature, we've gone back up now to 69 degrees here in washington. 69 out at an appear plus as well. quantico is at 64 degrees. dulles, 62. hagerstown, 68 degrees. in cambridge, maryland, it is 63 degrees thank you hour. satellite-radar no, precipitation this morning. we do think we'll get some precip in here tonight probably after 10:00 or so. particularly after midnight. the best chance of some showers. the showers are well off to the west right now associated with a cold front. before a warm front coming through today. it will help our temperatures move up into the upper 80s for today. once that cold front interacts with that warm air, it will likely trigger some showers. maybe even a couple of thunderstorms during the overnight hours behind that. we'll have cooler, drier air work its way in here. for today, clouds on the increase but awe warm day. 87degrees. a little bit breezy with that breeziness coming out of the south. for tonight, cloudy skies, a

there is some bad pr for goldman sachs and chase bank. goldman is facing a lawsuit

while chase is dealing with some technical problems. chris cotter with fox business network is live in new york. two women suing goldman sachs over discrimination claims. tell us about this and how this is affecting the market. >> three former employees are looking to have the suit certified as a class action suit so it could be any former goldman sachs female employee could jump on board. they say there is a systematic pattern and practice of discrimination. pay and promotions, a lot of gender discrimination and they say they were sort of made fun of if you will so they're suing for damages in that regard too. we'll see how this goes. goldman sachs says the suit is without merit and obviously this is something that will take a little while to get through the courts. you mentioned chase as well.

their web site went down monday night and chase has 16.5 million online customers. so this affects a lot of people. went down monday night. these things go down a lot but they are usually put right back up. it was down monday, all day tuesday and even part of the day on wednesday after chase had said it was fixed. they said there was a third party software vendor and some corruption there in their files. at no time was data ever accessed on or compromised. you haven't had access to your account in quite some time. you do now. it is more of an inconvenience for everybody. if people do payroll through chase, and they couldn't make payroll and had to pay fees, chase says she will reimburse for their fees. >> is it irritating the stocks at all. >> they were lucky. both goldman sachs and chase had this bad pro days when the market was up so they went up along with it. the chase change, both of these

we'll update your ride elsewhere. no problems reported as you continue south on 270. slow traffic as you work your way south of montrose road to the split. in virginia, northbound i-95 slowing out of dale city trying to head north of the prince william parkway. no accidents, just volume. 66 slows at business 234. that's a check of your fox 5 on-time traffic. a speeding suv collides with an ambulance overnight. stacy cohan joins us live with the details. >> reporter: it was a very scary moment for the folk in the ambulance apparently. this happened just around midnight. they were just dispatched heading westbound on marlboro pike. and apparently, investigators were able to watch it all unfold on a dash cam that took video from the ambulance. the suburban was heading the

wrong with a just speeding down when it was approaching the ambulance head on. the driver of the ambulance managed to swerve to the left and the suv, the suburban lipped the side of the ambulance, literally shaving half of that ambulance off and then it went another 40 yards, crashed into a brick wall, crashed into a utility pole and flipped up on its roof. all three members in that suv, three men in that suburban were all killed. i talked to mark brady with the fire department, and he said it is just devastating when you take a look at the damage caused by that suburban. >> i've never seen that amount of destruction done to an ambulance. i would hate to think what would have happened if that had hit head on. >> the speed of that vehicle and such a large vehicle to do that amount of damage on a sideswipe would havic just totally obliterated a head on collision. i think well have serious or

fatal injuries to our personnel if it was not for the actions taken by the ambulance driver to avoid that collision. >> reporter: both the male and female fire ems workers were transferred to local hospitals and they are just fine. this roadway is closed. marlboro pike between silver hill road and brooks drive, seeing an awful lot of cars including a school bus i just saw come down here and pull these u-turns. keep that in mind. you cannot get through here at least for another good half hour if not longer. back to you. emergency vehicle involved in two other accidents. a montgomery county police officer was involved in a chain reaction crash that happened here. the police cruiser collided with another car as the officer was responding to an emergency call in rockville. both cars then hit other vehicles including a postal truck. sky fox shot this video of of the the police car. there you see it being towed

away. the officer and the driver of the postal truck had minor youries. in the district, it was a fire engine on the way to the call that got into an accident with the metro bus. nobody was seriously hurt. the fbi is investigating a michigan man. officers say he found a picture of the president, a bullet- proof vest, a loaded gun and tip for building b had bumper s quoting adolph hitler on his suv. some folk who know him say they're in the viced. >> i heard he was scoring this guns. >> right over here? >> right here. >> you don't threaten the president. even if he didn't threaten him. you don't carry his picture around with a bunch of bomb making material and a vest. >> the man is facing charges

one fallen marine would went to the cemetery to see if his remains were in the wrong grave. bob barnard has the story. >> reporter: visiting arlington from their home in canton, ohio scott and melissa warner have just identified the remains of their marine son, heath. the 19-year-old private was killed by a roadside bomb in iraq four years ago. he was buried with full military honors. but was he resting in peace where the army said he was? >> we were making sure that he had the dignity that he was buried where we were told he was buried. >> reporter: turns out this was heath warner's final resting place, positively identified by this tattoo on his arm. but arlington recently found three others buried in the wrong graves. >> to have something like that

happening, it is horrifying. it is absolutely horrifying and it is really inexcusable. >> reporter: the discrepancies coming to light in this inspector general's report released in june. >> the ig report found potentially 211 discrepancies in particularly three sections of the cemetery. or a senate subcommittee reported as many as 6600 graves at arlington may be unmarked, improperly marked or mislabeled. >> early ago ton represents the value we place on veterans in life and in death and the army must restore the solemn trust that america's heroes deserve. >> reporter: congress wants to know what has happened to more than $5 million spent to modernize the cemetery and compute arize its burial records. this iraq war veteran says there is a simple solution. >> they have to upgrade the systems. they have to get rid of the paper-based systems and go to the modern systems that the va has been using for 10, 15

years. >> reporter: after positively identifying the bodies, the warners had heath reburied. >> i have to tell you, melissa and i want to say we're sorry to heath because we had to do this to him. >> reporter: bob barnard, fox 5 news. army officials say no other families have asked to have their loved ones remains exhumed at arlington. it is a first since the vietnam war i'm living soldier set to receive the medal of honor. on october 5, 2007, surf advisory sergeant salvatore guiunt rescued one soldier. and helped with another. he did all of this under heavy fire in one of afghanistan's most dangerous areas. >> we walked into an l-shaped ambush.

will be humid, more humid than what we've had. we'll have more clouds around today as well. it will be warmer. let's jump in. we'll show you the current temperatures around the region. we are at 69 degrees now in the nation's capital. 64degrees in quantico. these temperatures are a little bit warmer than what they've been. take a look at the satellite- radar for the eastern united states. we have some clouds in over us this morning. another difference between today and the last couple of days. some cloudy skies. i think we'll see a fair amount of sun touring the course of the day today. will some sun filter through. some morning high clouds and later on today, the clouds thicken up during the afternoon into the evening hours. that precipitation you see out to the west, that is a line making its way through here. in advance of the front, a warm front comes through today. we have the southerly winds

coming up from the south. it will allow our temperatures to move up into the 1r0. the cold front comes through overnight. that is likely to trigger some showers and some thunderstorms. -- it will allow our temperatures to move up into the 80s. warm temperatures with the wind out of the south. high about 87-degree. five-day forecast, today is the day of transition. tonight, some rain and maybe a thunderstorm or two that could last into the early-morning hours. it may not though. it may wrap up rather quickly. tomorrow, a nice day, cooler, less humid. clouds in the morning but more sunshine as the day progresses. saturday and sunday, sunshine, highs in the 80s. >> very nice. >> the redskins play at fedex field sunday afternoon. temperatures should be around game time around 8 # degrees with sunshine. >> perfect. >> not bad at all. >> there you go. >> you could probably head to the beach maybe on saturday if you wanted to.

>> sure, why not? get in one more beach day. it is time for ask the weather guys. it is a segment where tucker barnes and i put our big heads together to answer your most pressing questions weather- related or otherwise. today's question comes from mary in arlington. she asks why do all hurricanes and tropical storms start off the coast of africa. >> good yes. >> yes, it is a good question. mary, mary, mary. they do not all form off the coast of africa although many of them do. particularly touring -- many of them do, particularly during the peak of hurricane season. i'm going to get tucker involved because he is better with the science. it is essentially tropical waves that come off the west coast of africa, move out into the atlantic so -- ocean where the waters are warm.

>> what happens, you get little kinks in the atmosphere and you get spun in the foyer as these waves come off the coast of africa. we call them easterly waves. during the peak of hurricane season, which is right now, that spin in the atmosphere, sometimes showers and thunderstorms can originate and grow up and around that spin. this is where you get the storm development. you meningitissed that they don't all originate off the coast of africa. many times, they can originate in the gulf of mexico or off old frontal systems that hang out across the gulf or across the southern atlantic. >> typically, however the strongest hurricanes that we see do originate off the coast of africa from the tropical waves that leave the west coast of africa, move out over the warm waters of the atlantic. of this a lot of warm water to work with. they intensify, become very big. >> so now we are looking at a live hd radar.

these are our three active storms. all three of these originated from waves off the coast of africa. karl did not form until later. jewel y i think the most powerful hurricane to develop that far east, that close to africa. >> many of hush dos develop off the coast of africa, particularly -- many of the hurricanes do develop off the coast of africa, particularly during the peak of hurricane season. >> just those two areas? >> on the other side of the world, hurricanes there are called typhoons. the ones we are concerned with on the east coast of the united states are the ones that come from africa. >> sorry, mary, i added to your question there. maybe that helped you out actually. >> if you have a question you
